The birth of Parker James Ventura
Well, we checked into the hospital at 8:30pm on Thursday, January 22. They hooked me up to the IV's and started the Cervidil, then they sent me off the sleep... 6 am the nurse comes in and starts me on the pitocin, boy was that fun... UGH! It was a slow process, but finally the labor started. I was given my epidural too early.... so by the time I was fully in labor, the epidural had started to wear off. I was feeling almost all of the pain! After almost 2 hours of pushing, the nurses and midwives decided that he was too big to be born "naturally" and ordered me to have an emergency c-section. I was TERRIFIED! I was wheeled into the Operating Room a little after 7:30pm and at 7:52pm Parker James Ventura was born!
His heart rate was a little too high and he was running a small fever, so they sent him to the Transistion Nursery. They kept him there until about 2:00 am and finally he was able to come to our room! We stayed at the hospital until Tuesday morning.
So here are the stats:
Parker James Ventura
